Frequently Asked Questions

Quality and Safety

Our pet food is handcrafted in small batches right in our home kitchen, where cleanliness, quality, and care come first. We source high-quality, human-grade ingredients from trusted suppliers and follow strict food safety practices—including thorough sanitizing of all equipment, proper storage, and temperature controls. Each recipe is carefully balanced to meet canine nutritional needs, with guidance from AAFCO standards.

Even though we operate on a small scale, we take big steps to ensure our food is safe, nutritious, and made with love. Every bite of K-9 Dine reflects our promise: to provide your dog with wholesome, honest nutrition you can trust.

Ingredients

Our recipes never contain artificial or chemical preservatives, BHA, propylene glycol, or artificial flavors and colors—ingredients often found in traditional dry, canned, or semi-moist pet foods.

K-9 Dine recipes are made with fresh, natural meats, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. We’re committed to sourcing healthy, sustainable ingredients and have built strong relationships with trusted suppliers.

Most of our ingredients are sourced locally, and every ingredient is carefully selected to meet our high standards. We closely monitor all incoming ingredients and work directly with our partners to ensure quality, safety, and nutritional integrity in every batch.

Nutrition

K-9 Dine recipes are 100% complete and balanced, exceeding AAFCO’s minimum standards for canine nutrition. Each formula is carefully fortified with essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to support your dog’s specific life stage needs. Please note that our treats are not intended to be complete and balanced.

All K-9 Dine recipes are thoughtfully developed to be nutritionally complete and balanced, meeting or exceeding AAFCO guidelines. We design our meals with input from trusted veterinary and animal nutrition professionals to ensure they support your dog’s overall health and well-being. Our commitment to science-backed nutrition drives every recipe we make.

Feeding and Serving

When transitioning your dog from another brand of pet food to K-9 Dine, we recommend doing so gradually over a period of 7–10 days.

Our Meals are intended for daily amount, so each meal can be given once per day or split between two meals per day. Here is the amount of food based on your dog’s weight.

5-10 lbs: ½ – ⅞ cup Per Day

11–25 lbs: 1 – 1½ cups Per Day

26–50 lbs: 1⅝ – 3 cups Per Day

51–75 lbs: 3⅛ – 3¾ cups Per Day

76–100 lbs: 4 – 5 cups Per Day

All K-9 Dine recipes are AAFCO-approved for all life stages, including puppyhood.

Storing Meals

At K-9 Dine, we recommend serving our food fresh from the fridge for optimal freshness and taste up to two days. After that, you can freeze any unused portions for later use. Please note that slight changes in color or texture may occur after thawing, but this does not affect the nutritional value or flavor of the meals.
